Thick-Walled Round Welded Pipes
High-strength connectors and supporting components ensure building structural stability
Product Overview
Thick-walled round welded pipes are circular cross-section steel pipes made by rolling and welding steel plates or strips. Their wall thickness is usually relatively thick (generally greater than 10mm, with different definitions in different scenarios). Using steel strips and plates as billets, they are welded through processes such as arc welding, resistance welding (high frequency, low frequency), gas welding, and furnace welding, covering forms like straight seam welding and spiral welding. The materials include plain carbon steel (such as Q195, Q235), low alloy steel (such as Q355, 16Mn), stainless steel (such as 304, 2205), etc., adapting to various industrial needs.
Key Features
- Strong mechanical properties: The thick-walled design endows high compressive and deformation resistance capabilities, able to bear large loads and pressures, stable and reliable in high-pressure transmission and heavy structural support scenarios, such as high-pressure fluid transmission pipelines, ensuring the safety of medium transmission.
- Wide material adaptability: Plain carbon steel meets general strength requirements; low alloy steel can cope with complex working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, and corrosion; stainless steel has both corrosion resistance and aesthetics, suitable for special environments such as food, medical, and marine industries.
- Flexible production: There are various production processes. High-frequency welding has high efficiency and is suitable for mass production; spiral welding can produce large-diameter pipes with narrow steel strips; it can also be customized with different calibers, wall thicknesses, and lengths to meet diversified project requirements.
- Cost advantage: Compared with seamless pipes, the production equipment is lighter, with less investment and faster forming. The cost is more than 20% lower in mass production, having both economy and practicality.
Application Fields
Industrial transmission: Used in fluid (oil, gas, chemical media) transmission pipelines in industries such as petroleum, natural gas, and chemical industry. With the advantages of thick walls and materials, they resist high pressure and corrosion, ensuring the production process.
Building structures: As structural pipes for building pile foundations, bridge supports, steel structure frames, etc., such as pile foundations and trusses of large buildings and bridges, using mechanical properties to bear building loads and ensure structural stability.
Machinery manufacturing: They are key components of heavy machinery, pressure vessels, mining equipment, etc., such as hydraulic cylinders and equipment casings, relying on thick walls and strength to ensure safe and stable operation of equipment.
Energy and power: In power station facilities such as thermal power and hydropower, they are used for steam-water pipelines and circulating water pipelines, adapting to working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, and water flow impact, maintaining the operation of energy systems.
Municipal engineering: Used in urban water supply, sewage treatment, gas transmission and other pipe networks, meeting the requirements of municipal construction for pipe strength, durability, and tightness, ensuring urban basic people's livelihood.
Special fields: Stainless steel thick-walled round welded pipes are widely used in food processing, medical equipment, marine engineering (such as shipbuilding, seawater desalination) due to their corrosion resistance and hygienic characteristics, like transmission pipelines in food factories and structural and fluid transmission components of ships.
